State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya says that the import restrictions on raw materials for cosmetic products, auto spare parts and related export items will be removed within the next two weeks.
He said that due to the foreign exchange crisis, import restrictions had to be imposed on several commodities.
However, more than 700 products were removed from the list due to business demands.
“Within the next two weeks, import restrictions on several items, including auto parts and cosmetics, will be lifted as per the requests of people from the relevant sectors,” he said.
