In line with the Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2022, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil and Mrs Sujeewa Nelson attended a reception onboard Her Majesty’s Australian Ship Adelaide yesterday evening (25 Oct 22).
The Indo-Pacific Endeavour (IPE) began in 2017 as an activity coordinated by the Australian Defence Force to strengthen Australia’s engagement and partnerships with regional security forces.
This occasion was also graced by Tri-Service Commanders, and many senior officers of Sri Lanka Armed Forces at the invitation extended by the High Commissioner for Australia, His Excellency Paul Stephens and the Commander Joint Task Force 635.7, Commodore Mal Wise.
In the meantime, Commander Joint Task Force for Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2022, Commodore Mal Wise called on the Chief of Defence Staff, General Shavendra Silva at his office prior to the reception on 25 October 2022.
During the ensuing interaction, they exchanged views on several matters of bilateral importance. The CDS was also further briefed on the organised programmes to further strengthen the cooperation and goodwill between both navies. Marking the event, mementoes were exchanged and the CDS invited the crew to witness the scenic beauty and proud heritage of the country.
