A sergeant of the Sri Lanka Army has managed to capture a man who robbed a gold necklace of a female teacher working at Saranapala College in Matara, caught the suspect alive and handed over the gold necklace worth approximately one hundred and fifty thousand rupees to the Police Headquarters Matara along with the suspect.
JPR Chandramal, a Sergeant of the Sri Lanka Army, saw this incident while returning to his workplace after a short pass and made great efforts to surrendered him and hand over the suspect and the golden necklace to the Matara Police.
The heroic service of this Sergeant act has been appreciated by the Sri Lanka Army despite the danger to his life.
