The Indian Armed Forces delegation that visited the country to conduct a training capsule in Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) along with the Indian Defence Attache in Sri Lanka paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil at his office yesterday evening (09 November 2022).
The delegation that comprised of four Indian officers from the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington and Defence Services Technical Staff College, Pune arrived in Sri Lanka to conduct the Management and Technology Studies Training Capsule in DSCSC, Sapugaskanda from 08 November to 11 November 2022.
At the meeting with the most senior serving military officer of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces, amidst the warm welcome extended by the CDS, the delegation expressed their appreciation for the assistance and guidance extended for the continuation of these types of programmes that promotes the exchange of knowledge whilst strengthening the mutual understanding between the militaries.
Further, General Shavendra Silva conveyed his special gratitude and appreciated the DSSC Wellington for producing professional Sri Lankan military officers from the era of late Major General Vijaya Wimalaratne RWP RSP VSV USP psc who fostered generations of subordinate officers to march forward the forces for ultimate success.
Similarly, the CDS extended his thankfulness on behalf of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces for the commitment and interest exhibited in succeeding the capsule and assured to further encourage programmes of these nature benefiting military training establishments of both countries.
Mementoes were exchanged between the CDS and members of the delegation to mark the event.
