AN ARMY SOLDIER FINDS A FOREIGNER’S WALLET WITH 7 LAKHS & VALUABLES INSIDE & RETURNS IT

Corporal NEDP Nanayakkara of 2 Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) on Sunday (13), while he was on duty in front of replica of Avukana Buddha Statue premises in Girithalale (in front of 2 SLCMP camp premises) found a foreigner’s handbag with a wallet inside it. Afterwards, he handed over the bag to the 2 SLCMP Headquarters. Later on, this handbag was inspected under the instructions of the Commanding Officer of 2 SLCMP, Major NPEN Nerangama and found cash worth about Rs Seven Hundred Thousand foreign currencies, a Canon camera worth about Rs Three Hundred Thousand, a passport belonging to Ms Jacklin Slinda resident in Peru, a Power Bank with two ATM cards. Further, it was confirmed by the Army that the wallet belonged to Ms Kayo Chambi Jaklin Slinda and she was informed to report to the 2 SLCMP Headquarters.

The wallet has been handed over to the owner at the 2 SLCMP Headquarters premises by the Commanding Officer of 2 SLCMP and Corporal Nanayakkara along with the Army was praised wholeheartedly by lady Jaklin on behalf of this worthy act.
