Accordingly, the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries Mahinda Amaraweera said that the Honorable President Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe informed the Cabinet that the government will take steps to spend Rs.20.6 billion for those activities.
Therefore, the minister advised the officials to set up as many new agricultural projects as possible.
The Minister also advised that the agricultural projects should be arranged with the aim of raising the income levels of the farmers in the villages, developing their infrastructure and targeting new agricultural technology.
The minister gave this advice while addressing a discussion held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Plantation Industries.
