Anura Vidanagamage has been appointed the new Governor of Uva Province, succeeding A.J.M. Muzammil, who recently resigned from the position.
Muzammil submitted his resignation on Thursday in a letter to President Ranil Wickremesinghe, citing his intention to support Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa in the upcoming election.
