The government has invited expressions of interest (EOIs) to develop key railway stations in Colombo into commercial centers.
According to a proposal by the Minister of Transport, the stations at Kolpetty, Bambalapitiya, Wellawatte, Slave Island, Dehiwala, and Mount Lavinia will be upgraded through a public-private partnership model.
Transport Minister and Cabinet Spokesman Bandula Gunawardena confirmed that Cabinet approval has been granted to initiate the EOI process and select suitable investors for this project.
