The World Bank Group has extended its congratulations to Anura Kumara Dissanayake following his election as the 9th Executive President of Sri Lanka.
In a formal letter, Martin Raiser, Vice President for the South Asia Region of the World Bank, and Riccardo Puliti, Vice President for the Asia and Pacific Region of the International Finance Corporation, reiterated the organization’s commitment to aiding Sri Lanka in its path to economic recovery and sustainable development.
The letter acknowledged the challenges of the country’s economic reset but emphasized the significant opportunities for growth, prosperity, and development.
Furthermore, the World Bank Group pledged its continued support for fostering inclusive growth and addressing the needs of Sri Lanka’s most vulnerable communities under the leadership of President Dissanayake.
