Renuka Perera, the Administrative Secretary of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), has been taken into custody for allegedly disseminating false information concerning the recent Maaveerar Naal commemorations.
Officials from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) apprehended Perera at his residence in Kotikawatta earlier today (December 5).
Further investigations into the matter are currently underway.
