The Thai Embassy in Sri Lanka announces upcoming visa measures, including exemptions for Sri Lankan visitors for up to 60 days. Current visa applications still processed in two working days.

The Embassy of Thailand in Sri Lanka has announced that the effective date for its new visa measures, which include exemptions for several countries, including Sri Lanka, will be disclosed soon.

Currently, applicants can still apply for a Thai visa at the Embassy, with a standard processing time of two working days (submit on Monday, receive the result on Wednesday), according to the Embassy’s statement.

In a recent notice, the Embassy mentioned that Thailand is finalizing new visa measures, and the effective date will be revealed once all legal procedures are complete.

As part of these new measures, the Embassy has introduced three types of visas: the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), Visa Exemption (60 days), and Visa on Arrival (VoA).

Sri Lanka is among the countries benefiting from the visa exemption, allowing visitors to travel to Thailand for tourism and short-term business purposes for up to 60 days without a visa.
