A special police inquiry has been initiated following an incident where a newlywed couple conducted a photoshoot inside the historic Sri Dalada Maligawa. The couple was photographed at various locations within the temple, including the Hewisi Mandapaya and Ambaraawa, sparking considerable discussion on social media.
Pradeep Nilanga Dela, the Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, confirmed that he had reported the incident to the authorities. The couple and their photographer have been called to Kandy today (09) to provide their statements concerning the matter.
