According to the World Happiness Report 2023, an annual report published by the United Nations’ Sustainable Solutions Network since 2012, Finland has once again been named the happiest nation in the world for the sixth consecutive year.
The report evaluates the overall well-being and life satisfaction of people in 149 countries, taking into account factors such as income, social support, health, freedom, generosity, and perceptions of corruption.
While Finland has retained its top spot, Sri Lanka has made a significant improvement, moving up to 112th place from its 127th position in the 2022 index.
