The results of the GCE Advanced Level (A/L) Examination 2024 will be released after the Sinhala and Tamil New Year in April, says the Commissioner General of Examinations, Amith Jayasundara. The GCE A/L examination is a key milestone for Sri Lankan students. It determines university entrance, career paths, and future goals. This year’s exam took place from November 25 to December 31, 2024, across 2,312 examination centers nationwide.
A total of 333,183 candidates sat for the exam, including 253,390 school students and 79,793 private candidates.
In addition to the written tests, practical exams for the Biosystems Technology subject (Code 66) were held from February 8 to 10, 2025.These exams are essential for students aiming for science, agriculture, and technology-related fields.
