The first batch of eggs imported from India arrives in the island

On 23rd March, the initial consignment of eggs that were imported from India to Sri Lanka has arrived on the island.

The government of Sri Lanka made the decision to import eggs from India to regulate the egg prices in the country, and this first batch of eggs consists of 2 million units.

Following the arrival of the eggs, the Ministry of Health conducted tests to ensure their safety, and once cleared, the eggs will be made available for sale.
