In conjunction with the berthing of the Indonesian Sailing Ship ‘KRI Bima Suci-945’ a cocktail reception was hosted at the Colombo Harbour on 21st April 2023 evening.
The Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the Indonesian Naval Ship ‘KRI Bima Suci-945’ to Colombo port in compliance with the naval traditions last Friday. The ship is scheduled to depart the island on 22nd April terminating its official visit. ‘KRI Bima Suci-945’ is manned by a crew of 95 and is commanded by Commander M. Sati Lubis. The crew is expected to visit tourist attractions in Sri Lanka during their stay.
At the invitation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, Her Excellency Mrs Dewi Gustina Tobing, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil attended the charm occasion renewing the mutual relations between the two nations and mementos were exchanged with the Commanding Officer and the CDS marking the visit.
The State Minister of Foreign Affairs Tharaka Balasuriya graced the occasion as the chief guest where the Commander of the Navy and many serving Naval officers of the Sri Lanka Navy attended the occasion.
