Major General Chris Smith, the Australian Deputy Commanding General to the U.S. Army Pacific Command (USARPAC) for Australia, together with Lieutenant Colonel Anthony C. Nelson, Defence Attaché of the US Embassy in Colombo, Major Andrew Teruya, US Army Pacific – South Asia Country Director and Captain Brittney Davis on Tuesday (2) afternoon, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters.
During the cordial interaction that ensued, the Army Chief and the delegation exchanged views on current security concerns in the Asian Pacific region, expansion of bilateral training opportunities and benefits and other matters of general concern for both organizations.
At the conclusion of the discussion, an exchange of mementoes that signifies the goodwill and understanding that prevails between the Sri Lanka Army and the USARPAC took place.
