The government of Sri Lanka has signed an agreement with the Japan International Trainee and Skilled Worker Cooperation Organization (JITCO) to open up more job opportunities for Sri Lankan youth in Japan
The Japan International Trainee & Skilled Worker Cooperation Organization (JITCO) will provide opportunities for Sri Lankan youth to enroll in Technical Intern Training Programmes (TITP) and Specified Skilled Worker Programmes (SSW)
The TITP is a job training program that provides foreign people with employment prospects in Japan
while the SSW is a new technical intern training program
Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara stated that these programs will help migrant workers connect to the job market in Japan
As representatives of JITCO, officers Masato Kume, Naoki Komi, and Shigeo Matsutomi took part in the activity.
Manusha Nanayakkara, the minister of labor and foreign employment, together with the secretary of the department and the acting chairman of the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) and other top officials, attended the occasion.
