SriLankan Airlines is seeking dynamic and experienced Licensed Aircraft Engineers (LAE) to join its Engineering Division on a full-time, fixed-term contract basis. Position Overview

As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you will be responsible for performing Line Maintenance and Base Maintenance checks on company and customer aircraft. The role ensures that all aircraft maintenance activities comply with Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) regulations, SriLankan Airlines policies, and approved quality standards.

You will work on modern aircraft fleets including Airbus A320, A321 NEO, and A330, contributing directly to safe and efficient flight operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out aircraft maintenance and servicing activities using approved procedures, tools, and spare parts.

  • Ensure all maintenance tasks meet regulatory, quality, and safety standards.

  • Plan and manage work priorities, manpower, and time efficiently to meet ground time targets.

  • Accurately report Aircraft on Ground (AOG) defects during transit and turnaround operations.

  • Support Duty Engineers and Check Controllers with timely technical updates and progress reports.

  • Ensure scheduled turnaround times (TAT) for maintenance inputs are achieved.

  • Assign, guide, and monitor tasks performed by qualifying mechanics, inspectors, and technicians.

  • Participate actively in audit preparation activities to minimize audit findings.

  • Contribute to training and skill development initiatives within the engineering team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, including at least 1 year as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer.

  • Hold a valid AML B1.1 or B2 license with active full-type approval on one or more of the following aircraft types:

    • Airbus A330 (Trent 700)

    • Airbus A320 (V2500 / CFM56-5B)

    • Airbus A320 NEO (Leap-1A)

  • Must be a Sri Lankan citizen.

  • Maximum age limit: 55 years as at the application submission date.

Additional Information

  • Grade will be determined based on years of experience and number of aircraft type approvals.

  • Employment is offered on a fixed-term contract basis.
