From Bogawantalawa town, passing through Bogwana Estate, one has to reach the vicinity of the National Livestock Farm (NLDB) in Bopaththalawa to reach Haritha Kanda.
The bus route through Diagama Agarapatana can also be used to reach this farm. The changing weather and foggy environment from time to time are the factors that keep the eyes of the tourists and after coming to Bopattalawa , which has no less of those features, you can see the beautiful location of Little New Zealand or Haritha Kanda
The fog hits on the body all over the Haritha Kanda which creates eye-pleasing views of green color, sometimes you have to climb the mountain with an incline of 40 degrees between the mountain and the body. It should be kept in mind that there are low bushes growing all over the land and there may be animals like vipers and lizards.
After reaching the top, on a clear day, you can see the Mahaeliya thenna forest , Kirigalpotta, the peak of Agrabopat, the areas around Ambewela Wind Pellets, Piduruthalagala, Great Western, Dell Kanda, Uda Radella and Ala bedda mountain ranges can be seen.
There is space for only a few tents on the top of the mountain, but those tents should be pitched paying attention to the rapidly changing cold and strong wind flow. Also, finding a suitable place to pitch a tent from the top down is not a difficult task.
